Under ADR, compressed oxygen belongs to Class 2, carries label 2.2 and has subsidiary hazard 5.1. Oxygen is not itself flammable, but it can intensify combustion. It makes up approximately 21% of the atmosphere by volume and is used in metalworking, cutting, welding and various industrial processes.

Oxygen is not flammable, but it intensifies combustion. Valves and connections must be kept free from oil and grease. According to the referenced HABAŞ safety data sheet, cylinders should be used and stored below 45°C, with storage measures preventing cylinder temperatures from falling below -40°C or rising above 45°C. Cylinders should be kept upright and secured in well-ventilated areas. Oxidizing gas cylinders should be separated from flammable gas cylinders.
